World of the Wheel - Panelists Needed!

Would you like to be on a WoT panel? Good news! The World of the Wheel track is staffed mostly with fan panelists. Please take a look at the panel list below and contact us at if you are interested in being on a WoT panel this year. If you've already emailed us, we'll be sending out an email to you soon to choose your panels.

Qualifications: You must be able to speak about the topic and share the "stage" with other panelists. NO bogarting the talking time! That's it. Just enjoy talking about the Wheel of Time and don't be a jerk. smile emoticon

Hotel Sold Out! Overflow Rooms Coming

Guess what, everyone! Our host hotel is completely sold out for Friday and Saturday nights! Thursday night and Sunday nights are still available to anyone who wants to book those.

So what does this mean?

We are now estimating how many people still need to reserve a room so that we can create a new room block at a nearby (~1 mile) overflow hotel.

Please send an email to if you still need to book a room so we can get an accurate head count for the overflow hotel.

New Toastmaster for JordanCon 8: Linda Taglieri

Announcing a change in plans for JordanCon 8! Due to personal reasons, John Strangeway will not be able to join us as Toastmaster this year. We know you were looking forward to him, but we have an excellent alternate in store for you who we know you will love just as much.

You've attended her JordanCon panels... You've seen her stunning dolls... You've read her blog... It is our pleasure to announce that Linda Taglieri will serve as our Toastmaster for JordanCon this year.

Jason Denzel Confirmed as Guest for 2016

Great news, everyone! We are pleased to announce that Jason Denzel, founder of popular Wheel of Time site Dragonmount and author of the exciting new fantasy trilogy Mystic, will officially be an attending guest at JordanCon 8.

If you missed him on his recent book tour, be sure to bring your copy of Mystic to JordanCon to get it signed!

JordanCon 8 Parking PSA

We know you are all busy purchasing your JordanCon badges (before the prices go up on January 3rd) and making your hotel reservations, and so some of you may have noticed that the Marriott has a new parking fee this year. This fee does NOT apply to JordanCon members.

Anyone with a JordanCon badge (whether you are staying at the hotel or not) can obtain a free parking permit at the front desk. Display the parking permit on your dashboard, and you're all set!

JordanCon/DSC has donated 2 memberships to Con or Bust

JordanCon, host of DeepSouthCon 54, has donated two 2016 memberships to Con or Bust, a not-for-profit organization whose mission it is to increase diversity at Science Fiction and Fantasy conventions by helping non-white individuals obtain memberships and funds to attend. Since 2009, they have raised over $54,000 through donations and auctions, allowing nearly 200 people to attend dozens of different conventions.

JordanCon 8 to host DeepSouthCon 54

We are pleased to announce that JordanCon 8 has won the bid to host DeepSouthCon 54! JordanCon will also be administering the site selection for DSC 56.

In addition to JordanCon programming, the convention will feature a DeepSouthCon track, a Hearts tournament, the annual meeting of the Southern Fandom Confederation, and presentation of the Rebel & Phoenix awards for 2016.

JordanCon places emergency bid to host DeepSouthCon #54

JordanCon will enter an emergency bid to host DeepSouthCon in 2016. This follows last month’s announcement that the previously scheduled convention, “ABC DSC,” taking place in Atlanta this May, has been cancelled.

DeepSouthCon is a traveling science fiction fan convention that travels the southeastern United States. It has the distinction of being the oldest literary convention in the region, and sponsors the Phoenix and Rebel awards.
